Liquid Silicone Resuscitator
Silicone Resuscitator, also known as silicone manual resuscitator, silicone resuscitator autoclavable, and LSR resuscitator, is an silicone oval-shaped ball used for continued oxygen supply and assisted ventilation. The silicone resuscitator is connected with an intake valve, oxygen reservoir bag and patient valve. Manual Resuscitator Material
Manual resuscitators include three sizes, adult, pediatric (child) and infant. And they can be made of different materials. For different materials, sterilization method and reusability for manual resuscitator is different. Generally, PVC manual resuscitator and SEBS resuscitator are disposable, while silicone resuscitator can be sterilized and reused.

What is the Difference Between Silicone Resuscitator and PVC Resuscitator?
Silicone resuscitator is made of medical grade liquid silicone by LSR injection molding. PVC manual resuscitator is made by plastic injection molding. Compared with PVC/SEBS, cost of liquid silicone material is much higher. However, liquid silicone is more eco-friendly to environment.
Silicone resuscitator is autoclavable. Silicone/liquid silicone can resist to 230°C high temperature. So silicone manual resuscitator can be autoclaved for 5 minute in 134°C or 15 minutes in 121°C. PVC material only can resist to about 60°C, so PVC resuscitator is not autoclavable. PVC resuscitator only can be disinfected by EtO.
Silicone resuscitator can be also be sterilized by ethylene oxide (EtO).
Silicone resuscitator is odorless. Liquid silicone is platinum silicone which is odorless and biocompatible. PVC resuscitator inevitably has some smells. In LSR resuscitator production, manufacturer also need to post cure the liquid silicone bags in high temperature to reduce the VOC and make sure LSR resuscitator is safer for human body and odorless.
LSR/Silicone resuscitator is reusable and eco-friendly to environment. Silicone manual resuscitator can be reused for 20 times after sterilization. They also can be recycled and do no harms to environment. PVC material for resuscitator is thermoplastic which is non-biodegradable.
In same shape and size, liquid silicone resuscitator is lighter than PVC resuscitator. The density of liquid silicone is about 1.2g/cm³, while PCV is about 1.4 g/cm³.

A good manual resuscitator should have good resilience. When we press the bag, it should bounce to full shape quickly. So the material should be high-resilience liquid silicone and high-resilience PVC. Bad material will cause bad tactile feedback.
