Suitable Molding Process
Generally speaking high transparent silicone is also belong to liquid silicone rubber (LSR ). It mainly produced by liquid silicone rubber injection molding. Clear high heat silicone is mainly produced through low-temperature vulcanization, which maintain clarity and reduces thermal stress on components. RTV casting moulding and compressed molding are not suitable for manufacturing crystal clear silicone rubber.
How We Control the Defects
First, it is very important to carry out incoming material inspection.
Second, mold cleanliness checking is also a must.
Third, process parameter control will affect the quality of the whole batch.
Fourth, our engineers will optimize venting and gate design to reduce air entrapment problem and flow marks during mold design. Venting design is very crucial for best crystal clear silicone. Transparent LSR requires a better mold surface so as to achieve high-transparency products. Therefore, higher-grade steel and electroplating effect are requested for mold making, and these will affect the product appearance. In this case, S316 ,P20 and S718 steel are more suitable for the mold material due to their good mirror polish-ability and steel cleanliness.
Fifth, stricter visual inspection will be required for the heat proof clear silicone parts.
Sixth, good protective packaging for platinum cure clear silicone will directly affect the cleanliness and overall perfection of the finished product.
