Why LSR Injection Molded Silicone Keypad is a Better Choice?

Liquid Silicone Rubber Keypad, as called as LSR Keypad, Liquid Silicone Injection Molded Keyboard, Liquid Silicone Buttons, which is made of transparent liquid silicone rubber by Liquid Silicone Rubber Injection Molding.

Silicone keypads are widely used in different applications including medical, industrial, instrumentation and communications equipment.

There are 4 types of silicone rubber keypad molding processes: liquid silicone rubber injection molded, compression moled, transfer molded and extruding molded.

1.Liquid silicone Injection molding is a closed loop system and molded under pressure by computer controlled repeatable equipment. Which is high efficient, and can save manpower, is suitbale for mass production.

2.Compression molding is open-air system , need to hand cut and weigh material manually. Is time consuming compeared to LSR Injection Molding.

3.Transfer molding is a combination of compression molding and gumstock material pushed into a mold under low pressure.

4.Extruding molding uses gumstock molding processes for continuous product such as tubing.

Silicone Keypad by compression molding is very common, but because of liquid silicone rubber's excellent property, more and more customer would like to choose Liquid silicone as material.

LSR keypad 's advantages compared to solid silicone keypad:

• Liquid silicone rubber keypad is higher precision, with small parting line,no or less silicone rubber flashing, have stable buttons's design and size tolerance, the tolerance can be +/-0.02mm.

  
  

• LSR Keypad have wider Shore Hardness, can achieve 5-90A. For compression molded silicone keypad, the lowest hardness is 30A. And normally, we suggest to have 50-60A silicone keypad by silicone compression mold. So wider Shore hardness range is also an important reason to choose Lqiud Silicone Rubber as material.

  
  

• LSR Keypad has longer keylife time. LSR has better property than solid silicone: higher tear strength, good resilience, water resistance, heat and cold resistance, and is high transparency.

  
  

• LSR Keypad has higher production efficiency. Do not need worker to place material anymore, and shot cycle time is shorter.
