Bag Valve Mask

Bag Valve Mask, also known as BVM , Ambu Bag and self-inflating bag, which is a device that provide positive pressure ventilation to patient who are not breathing or not breathing adequately. Which is widely used in hospital in emergency rooms or other critical care settings.

Bag Valve Mask known by the proprietary name Ambu bag or generically as a manual resuscitator or "self-inflating bag", is a hand-held device commonly used to provide positive pressure ventilation to patients who are not breathing or not breathing adequately. The device is a required part of resuscitation kits for trained professionals in out-of-hospital.

Bag valve mask’s components: mask, bag and valve.

The Bag valve mask consists of a flexible air chamber, attached to a face mask connected by a shutter valve.

How the mask works?

When we squeeze the bag, the air will forced into the patient’s lungs; and when the bag is released, it self-inflated from the other end.

Sizes of BVM:

Bag valve masks can made into different sizes for infants, children and adults. A infant size bag might be used with different masks for multiple face sizes, and a infant mask might be used with an adult bag for small faces patients.

Bag Valve Masks' Types:

There are disposable and reusable mask.

The disposable mask is made of PVC. And the reusable mask is made of Liquid Silicone rubber, which is soft,  high transparent, 100% FDA grade with high safety. Most importantly, LSR mask is durable, because liquid silicone rubber is high tear and tensile resistant, so after use and clean, the mask can still keep the same and can be reused next time.
