Suction Tooling

Suction tooling also called sucker mold, suction cup tooling, with different mold tooling plates & structures to manufacture silicone rubber sucker by compression machine molding, is an economical development molding way to make samples or production for vacuum cup from bellow suction cup, suction pads, flat vacuum suction cups, oval suction cup, rubber foot suction, to screw suction cup (over-mold metal to rubber vacuum cup). Suction cup tooling is divided into three types: two plates (top mold plate and bottom plate) with mold core/keel, three plates, and three plates with handload/slider, according to the structure, parting line, and dimensions of rubber suction cup. No matter rubber suction cup is used in transmission/gripping/lifting/handling, holder, or health therapy, the material of sucker should be elastic, tear resistant, and good strength properties.

Bellow Suction Cup Compression Mould Tooling:

Rubber vacuum cup is made from flexible silicon rubber that is impenetrable by air. The sucker has a concave area under the nose or head of the cup, the size and shape of the suction cup, the surface finish and surface flat affect the ability of suction cup to stay fixed on a surface such as glass, wall, etc. Rubber sucker we made with very small burrs to help keep suction cup seal and grasp tightly.

Rubber Sucker Compression Tooling - Two Plates With Keel

The tooling with top mold pate, bottom plate, and the horizontal bar / keel, the parting line of sucker is on side.

Advantage: this suction tooling structure is good at manufacturing the long pipe shaped or complicated suction cup with undercut, or the rubber suction cup with holes inside suction pad.

Disadvantage: when wall of rubber sucker is too thick, the side parting line is easy to break that is called parting line crack.

Rubber Suction Cup Compression Mould Tooling - Three Plates

Top tooling plate, middle plate, and bottom plate.

Advantage: this tooling structure is good at flat suction cup when the sucker neck is not too long, the parting line is on the surface of top and bottom of the sucker, good appearance, no burrs and parting line on surface of suction cup body.

Rubber Vacuum Cup Compression Mould - Three Plates With Slider

Rubber Suction Cup Lifter tooling with big undercut or bellow suction cup will use this mould structure, pull the frame keel of the middle plate slide out, will need slide track on middle plate frame.

Rubber Sucker Cup Compression Tooling Three Plates With Hand Load

Suction compression tooling with hand load is similar to tooling with slide but not totally same, hand load is removing blocker/frame directly from the keel, the tooling without sliding track.
