Silicone Rubber Bellowis also named Silicone Cover Bellows, Rubber Expansion Bellow. Rubber Folding bellows can withstand high and low temperatures, and are resistant to water, ozone and aging. They come in different shapes, including accordion, flange, square, suction cup, and cone. Silicone Bellows are widely used in medical, food, automotive and industrial because of their various properties & types.
Silicone Bellow Molding includes two ways: LSR Injection Molding and Compression Molding, which depends on different working environment.
Advantage of LSR Injection Molding Liquid Silicone Bellow
Deburr: Take this rubber bellows cover for example, the holes in the top are very small, so the bellows seals can't be easily removed by rubber compression molding. And there will be rubber flash in the hole. So we suggest to produce it by liquid silicone rubber injection molding. And for some silicone bellows that have strict tolerance demands, LSR molding is also a better choice.
Material: Liquid silicone rubber material is 100% food grade, clean, BPA free, odorless, oxidation and bacteria resistant. For food industry or medical field that require it to come into direct contact with food and human body, liquid silicone rubber bellows are the best choice.
Hardness Range: The lowest hardness is 5 Shore A, and the highest is 80 Shore A. It is a good property that can't be achieved by compression-molded rubber bellows. In compression molding, if the hardness is too high, it's very difficult to demold, and if the hardness is too low, the parting line of the bellows will be easily broken.
Production Efficiency: Silicone Tube Bellow by liquid silicone injection molding can be demolded automatically and without or with less rubber flashing, which can save human labor to remove the rubber flashing manually. It doesn't need to place material by hand, and the curing time is also shorter.
Compression Molding Silicone Rubber Bellows' Advantages:
Cost: Custom silicone rubber bellows by compression molding are economical compared to LSR injection molding.
Tolerance: The tolerance of flexible rubber bellows can be achieved at 0.02-0.1mm by the use of good mold steel material, located pins and mold making equipment.
Material: Compression molding is available for different types of silicone rubber materials according to different working environments. The most common rubber bellows include silicone bellows, CR rubber bellows, and EPDM bellows, NBR bellows. Please check different property for different material bellows:
