Difference Between Horizontal and Vertical Liquid Injection Molding

For Liquid Silicone Rubber Injection Molding, there two types: Horizontal Liquid Injection Molding and Vertical Silicone Injection Molding.

Horizontal Liquid Injection Molding is suitable for cylinder products, such as LSR Silicone Breast Pump, Silicone Baby Bottles, Silicone Baby Nipples. And Vertical Injection Molding is a better choice for overmolding/2 shot molded products: LSR Silicone baby toothbrush and some small parts.

Horizontal Injection Molding can achieve automatic production. Can demold automatic to save time and man labor to improve production efficiency.

Horizontal LSR Injection Molding will become mainstream in the future. More and more producer will tend to choose horizontal Injection Molding to replace Vertical Injection Molding.

Vertical Liquid Silicone Rubber Injection Molding is easier to achieve insert molding. As the die surface is upwards, so it's easier to insert/place plastic/metal part to do overmolding. But some advanced horizontal injection moulding alsocan achieve inset moulding now.

Vertical Liquid Injection Molding is with more accuarcy. The weight of the die is supported by horizontal formwork to open and close up and down, which will not effect by the gravity of the horizontal machine.

Vertical Liquid Injection Molding is suitable for small parts, and manual operation, which is safer than horizontal LSR Injection Molding.
